Scotland's Whisky Month

Scotland's Whisky Month

Scotland is known for many things, but maybe one thing above all else. Whisky, born in Scotland and loved here as well. So it just makes sense that we have a Whisky month, and it just so happens that May is that month.

While it is a full month we celebrate the Whisky, the official day around the globe is the 18th of May, where plenty will be holding celebrations to show the appreciation for Whisky culture. To make you aware of the popularity Whisky has in Scotland, it should only be right to give you some numbers. Across Scotland there is around 150 Whisky distilleries, but breaking it up into smaller numbers there is 5 regions which include Highland, Islay, Campbeltown, Lowland and Speyside!

In terms of events to run alongside the day, and month we have stuff such as Campbeltown Malts Festival running from 21st to 22nd of May, or the Islay Festival of music and malt. Wanting to learn about the history during the month? There is 'The Scotch Whisky Experience'. Needing a glass or bottle opener to ready yourself for the rest of the month? There is the traditional Highland Cow Whisky Glass, or Staghorn Bottle Opener, plus a range of plenty more different Whisky Glasses and accessories to go along with them!
