The Statues of Burns

The Statues of Burns

Whether you've read the poems or not, everyone in Scotland knows who Robert Burns is. He is one of the most famous people from this country. Very pivotal in his many works that live on today inspiring many.

Although, it seems like it isn't just Scotland in which he is widely known. In fact behind Queen Victoria and Christopher Columbus, in regards to non-religious people, he has the most statue's around the world. A lot of them located in Scotland, England, Ireland, the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand to name some. Even the statue in the image, which is located in Irvine is near The Sgian Dubh Company factory!

One of the many reasons for this may be to do with his well regarded poem turned song Auld Lang Syne. Particularly used during New Years to celebrate what's to come and ticking another year off the list. At The Sgian Dubh Company we even offer a Quaich with the lyric's of Auld Lang Syne engraved into it. Which could be a nice gift or even something for yourself to celebrate Robert Burn's and his poems. Auld Lang Syne Quaich
